Resources

Along my journey, I’ve realized how difficult the first steps are to healing.  The greatest gift you can provide yourself with is to talk with someone, whether it be someone close to you that you trust or someone you don’t know at all.  I believe this is an internal need, that is different for everyone.  For me, even though I had a support system of friends and certain family, I needed to open up to someone who didn’t know me and didn’t know my story – someone who wouldn’t judge me.

The hardest part was scheduling my very first therapy appointment, and then actually getting myself there, was like dragging dead weight.  This is normal, but I commend you for getting to this step.  Now, if you need a little help, it’s ok to ask for it.  Do you need someone to call for you, just ask!  Do you need a ride, no problem!  Need a partner to walk in with you, that’s normal!  It’s ok, and you will be ok.

Here’s some resources for you to begin your journey to healing, and I’ll continue to update this regularly.
